Kate Moss for Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick - 101 & 107

So, I'm not a fan of Kate Moss, but I am a fan of lipstick, and as it happens I like these ones quite a lot.

The matte red and black tubes look classy and expensive and feel good to touch, as well as relatively sturdy. The slanted caps with the Rimmel crown are cute. I can even ignore the obnoxious heart on KM's signature. (Seriously, lady is 39 years old. Most people grow out of doing hearts by 16. Okay, maybe I can't ignore it.)

Rimmel describes these like so:

Sumptuously Rich Matte Colour with a sublime comfort.
Ruby Powder enriched formula.
Intense velvet colour all day!

Ruby Power enriched! Whatever will they think of/ make up next?

I picked up two out of the five available shades, which boringly are known only by number - 101 and 107. I tried them both on over my new ELF lip primer, which startled me by going on opaque cream before I realised you're not supposed to swipe it on like a normal lippy (dot and blend!).

This is what they euphemistically call
"a very editorial look".
I just learned how to put text on a photo from my phone. EXCITING.
101 is a pale pink with a cool blue tone; in fact it's maybe almost mauve. It has a fairly thick texture, but more of a satin feel and slight shine than I'd expect from a supposedly matte lipstick. It had pretty decent wear for a pale colour.

107 is a deep wine/berry colour, allllmost verging on plum - I can't quite make up my mind if it's more red or purple toned. This is how Rimmel thinks it will make me look:

The longer I look at this picture the weirder and weirder it becomes. Is she even a real person?
Hot damn! This is how I really looked:

I love this colour. It's really rich and vibrant, and I feel like it makes my tiny mouth and thin lips look plumper too (hurrah!). Again, the formula feels pretty slick for a matte and it does have a bit of shine, so if you're looking for a true matte this isn't it, but I don't mind. It's had good wear so far and hasn't thinned or worn off, but I haven't tried it without the primer.

Verdict? At £5.49, I would def recommend these, especially the darker one, which does a great job for the price. I'm not excited by any of the other matte shades but I would totally check out the other Rimmel Kate Moss collection, it looks like it has some interesting colours. And it's infused with light-reflecting Black Diamonds! Hahahahahhahahaha! Ahh, science.
